Python Script to Automate Weekly Excel Reports from CSV Exports

A logistics company in Adelaide exports three CSV files every Monday from their dispatch, fuel and payroll systems and spends half a day combining them into a management report in Excel. We want a Python developer to automate this into a one-click process.

What needs to be built

• A Python script (pandas, openpyxl) that reads the three CSVs from a folder, cleans and joins them on driver and vehicle IDs
• Outputs a formatted Excel workbook: summary sheet with KPIs, per-driver sheet, per-vehicle fuel efficiency sheet, with charts and conditional formatting
• Validation step that lists missing or duplicate records in a separate sheet instead of failing silently
• Config file for column mappings and thresholds so staff can adjust without editing code
• Packaged as a Windows executable (PyInstaller) with a short user guide; source code handed over

Requirements: strong pandas and Excel automation experience, clean readable code with a few unit tests, and the ability to walk the client through the result on a 30-minute call. Sample anonymised CSVs and the current manual report will be provided.

Budget: AUD 400 to 600 fixed, delivery within one week. Likely follow-on work automating other reports.
